Writing & Journaling Workshops

I facilitate workshops in Sensory Writing and Writing with Nature that spark creativity by inviting the body, emotions, and our relationship with the living world to guide the writing process.
Offered separately or together, these practices create a dialogue between inner and outer worlds: the body as a sensing instrument and nature as a creative collaborator.

Sensory Writing

Through sensory writing and journaling, we awaken to the present moment as embodied beings in the living world. By tuning into sight, smell, touch, taste, and sound, we open a doorway to our inner landscape and rediscover our wild, sensing selves.

In this workshop, we explore:
  • Sensory prompts that direct our attention toward specific sensory experiences, opening new pathways for observation and writing.
  • Embodied awareness of the thoughts, emotions, memories, stories that arise through our contact with matter and the living world.
  • Cultivating presence by noticing how one moment of awareness opens for new sensations, emotions, and insights.
  • Expanding perception beyond the familiar five senses to include balance, temperature, movement, and inner bodily awareness.
  • Reflection and sharing in a closing circle, where participants are invited to share insights, discoveries, and experiences from the journey.
I offer this workshop as a standalone experience or as part of a retreat, with sessions ranging from one hour to a full day.

Writing with Nature

Through writing with nature, we enter into a deeper relationship with the living fabric of life, with the landscapes, plants and animals that surround us. We explore how places shape our imagination, and how the more-than-human world can become a source of creative inspiration. Guided by nature-based prompts, we slow down and listen to the diverse voices of nature, the wild stories they hold and awaken in us.

In this workshop, we explore:
  • Landscape as storyteller. Exploring how different environments shape our senses, imagination, and inner landscapes.
  • Writing with plants and animals. Discovering how encounters with other beings can awaken curiosity, empathy and memories.
  • Nature as a creative companion. Using observation, imagination, and reflection to invite the living world into our writing.
  • Place-based writing. Listening to the unique qualities, histories, and atmospheres of the places we inhabit.
  • Reflection and sharing. Gathering in a closing circle to share discoveries, insights, and experiences from the journey.
I offer this workshop as a standalone experience or as part of a retreat, with sessions ranging from one hour to a full day.
