Yoga & Meditation

Yoga helps us cultivate balance in body, mind, and spirit, creating a healthier relationship with ourselves. Through movement, breath, and meditation, we build resilience, strengthen self-esteem, and develop the tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.

I’ve been teaching yoga since qualifying as a Hatha Yoga teacher at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala, India, in 2007. That experience became a turning point in my life, giving me lifelong tools for self-care and wellbeing.Since then, I’ve also trained in Power Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Mindfulness, and Yoga as Medicine. I integrate these approaches into my teaching to create gentle yet powerful, accessible classes that meet students where they are.

My teaching is rooted in the five core principles of Sivananda Hatha Yoga: proper exercise (asana), proper breathing (pranayama), proper relaxation (savasana), a healthy diet, and positive thinking and meditation (vedanta and dhyana). Each class balances strength and softness, movement and stillness, helping you reconnect with yourself and cultivate greater harmony in everyday life.

Sound Baths & Voice Yoga

Sound is vibration, and vibration can help restore balance in body, mind, and spirit. Through the Sound Baths and Voice Yoga sessions I offer, I create a safe and restorative space where sound, breath, and awareness help release tension, calm the nervous system, and reconnect us with ourselves.

In my Sound Baths, I guide participants through a meditative journey using quartz crystal singing bowls and other complementary instruments, combined with conscious breathing and meditation. The healing vibrations invite deep relaxation, quiet the mind, and create space for rest, reflection, and inner stillness. I also teach Voice Yoga (Nada Yoga), the yoga of sound, where we explore the healing resonance of our own voice through simple vocal exercises, chanting, mantras, and mindful listening. These practices expand the breath, release blocked energy, and encourage confidence, presence, and authentic self-expression.

Sound Baths and Voice Yoga can be experienced separately or woven together into one session. By combining sound, breath, meditation, and the voice, I create gentle yet powerful experiences that support relaxation, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Nature as Medicine

Nature is our oldest medicine. When we slow down and spend time outdoors, we remember that we are not separate from nature, we are part of it. Time in the woods helps us reconnect with ourselves, calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and restore a sense of balance. Listening to birdsong, feeling the earth beneath our feet, and the wind touching our skin invites us into the present moment and reminds us of our place within the living world.

In the outdoor wellbeing sessions I offer, we explore the healing qualities of nature through Mindful Walking, Forest Bathing, Sensory Writing, meditation, breathing, and voice practices. Together we slow down, awaken our senses, and deepen our connection with the landscape around us. Each session is an invitation to experience nature not simply as a place we visit, but as a relationship that supports our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

I also introduce the principles of Foraging and the Medicinal Properties of wild plants, discovering how nature can nourish us beyond the supermarket shelves. By learning to recognise the gifts that grow around us, we cultivate greater appreciation for the natural world and a deeper understanding that caring for ourselves and caring for the Earth are part of the same practice.
